We strive to provide the most accurate and relevant advice possible for our clients. In
our ongoing research, we often conduct surveys with recruiters and human resource
professionals to understand what issues they have with resumes. Here’s just a sampling
of what we hear everyday:

Subject: What Recruiters Dislike Most about Resumes
Here are a few more of my own:
· Number one complaint - No email address on the resume! duh !!!!!
· Number two complaint - Resume submitted as resume.doc instead of lastname.firstname.middleinitial.doc
Other Complaints:
No indication of unemployed - Resume says June 1997 to present, but he lost his job last February, 6 months ago.
No indication of willingness to travel, no indication of preferred location or location restrictions
No indication of current salary, final salary, or salary expectation.
No indication that he will not relocate from Podunk, Illinois.
No indication of size of firm for which he worked, nor what they produced, their number of employees, or to whom he / she reported, by title or function.
If in sales, their personal sales volume, how many accounts they called on, their sales cycle in time, what states they covered, their sales as a percentage of total revenue.
Whether or not they trained customers in products or did any post sales technical support, and to what extent.

Subject: What recruiters are saying about resumes.
Mike,
It was nice talking to you and I thank you in advance for any information you can give me for my class.
My Pet Peeves as a recruiter are as follows:
1. Resume not in MS Word.
2. Font too small where I cannot read the resume, without spending time changing the font size and style.
Please send me the information we talked about. I will pass the information along to my customers that are looking for jobs.
Thanks
